Pinning Inspiration #7

You're driftwood floating underwater
Breaking into pieces, pieces, pieces
Just driftwood hollow and of no use
Waterfalls will find you, bind you, grind you.
~ Travis, Driftwood
Contrary to Travis' poetic lyrics, we all know that driftwood has lots of uses, and creative ones at that!
So here is this week's Pinning Inspiration, on the very subject.

Driftwood projects don't have to be very involved--they can be as simple as gluing or tying a few smaller pieces around a glass candle holder. (Isn't this one from Anthropologie gorgeous?)

Alternatively, if you're up for something more challenging and time consuming, you could try making something like this! I found this on Pinterest, and after some digging around to find the original source, discovered it was posted on Blessed (where you can also find a very cool driftwood mirror!)

Lighting lovely, but now how about somewhere to hang your hat? A driftwood hatstand like this one seen on Apartment Therapy looks fantastically rustic and modern at the same time, whilst the natural shapes of the wood give ample space for hanging your hats and scarves.

Or how does a driftwood side table tickle your fancy? The one pinned is from Crate and Barrel; I've seen others locally that use what looks like entire sections of sea-smoothed tree trunk! Tres cool.

If you want to go completely driftwood crazy, you could even get a driftwood lamp to put on your driftwood side table! :D The one in the picture is by Michelle at Something Sweet Designs, who writes very clearly about how she put it together.

This driftwood wreath also looks cool. It would be a great addition to a shabby chic or beach-themed room!

That's it for today. There are so many awesome driftwood crafts out there that I couldn't possibly fit them into a single post--go to Pinterest and search for driftwood for even more ideas. Then head to the beach and search for driftwood again, this time to see what wonderful natural forms you can find. :)

Have you every worked with driftwood?
Is there a driftwood project out there that you adore?
Please share your inspirations and thoughts in the comments!
